They don't do the same thing exactly, although there can be similarities. Refer to the rules on consecrations and enchantments for the differences.

I was wondering, what's the difference between a priest consecrating a weapon, and a witch enchanting one? Do they do basically the same thing? Can witches temporarily enchant weapons with like the Frolicking Weapon Enchant? Or the Priests temporarily consecrate with the Healing weapon? Or are those only found on rare, permanently enchanted weapons?
